Scalloped potatoes

Ingredients
Scalloped potatoes
- 1 clove garlic, peeled and halved
- 60 gram butter, chopped
- 1 kilogram potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 cup (250ml) milk
- grated nutmeg
- 1/2 cup (60g) grated swiss cheese
Method
Scalloped potatoes

1Preheat oven to 180°C. Rub a shallow ovenproof dish with garlic. Butter dish generously. Lay potato slices in dish.

2Bring milk to a boil, then remove from heat instantly. Add nutmeg, then season to taste. Pour over potatoes in dish. Sprinkle with cheese and dot with remaining butter.

3Bake for 55-60 minutes, until potatoes are tender and golden. Cover with foil if potatoes are browning too quickly. Serve.
