- 1 kilogram green apples, peeled, cored, chopped
- 1/4 cup caster sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 150 gram frozen mixed berries
- 1/3 cup wholemeal self-raising flour

Method
Apple and berry crumble
-
1Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced). Grease a 1-litre (4-cup) ovenproof dish.
-
2Place apple, caster sugar and water in a large saucepan over moderate heat. Cook and stir for 10 minutes or until apple is soft. Remove pan from heat. Add berries; stir to combine. Spoon into prepared dish.
-
3Place flour in a medium bowl. Rub butter into flour to make coarse crumbs. Add raw sugar, cornflakes and coconut; stir well to combine. Sprinkle crumble mixture over fruit in dish. Dot top with extra butter.
-
4Bake for 30 minutes or until topping is golden and fruit mixture bubbling. Serve crumble warm or cooled with ice-cream.
Notes
Don't thaw frozen berries before using. You can swap frozen mixed berries for fresh strawberries, if preferred.
