Basic pide dough
- 7 gram yeast
- 1 teaspoon white sugar
- 2/3 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoon warm milk
- 2 cup plain flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 teaspoon black sesame seeds
Method

1In a jug, combine yeast, sugar, water and milk in jug. Stand in warm place until frothy.

2In a bowl, place ½ cup plain (all-purpose) flour in bowl; whisk in yeast mixture. Cover; stand in warm place 1 hour. Stir 1½ cups plain flour, salt and 1 tablespoon olive oil into yeast mixture.

3Knead dough until smooth. Place in oiled bowl, cover; stand in warm place 1 hour.

4Preheat oven to 240°C. Roll dough into a 35cm oval; place on baking paper. Make indents with finger then brush over remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil; sprinkle with sesame seeds.

5Heat oven tray, lift dough onto tray on paper; bake pide about 15 minutes.
