Ingredients

Caramelised onion & prosciutto
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 30 gram butter
  • 2 (400g) large onions, finely sliced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
  • 2 prosciutto slices
  • 2 fresh bread roll patties, split in half
  • 25 gram feta, crumbled, to garnish

Method

Caramelised onion & prosciutto

    In a large frying pan, heat oil and butter on medium heat; saute onion for about 10-15 minutes, or until onions are soft and slightly golden. Stir in sugar and vinegar. Set aside.

    In a heated, non-stick frying pan, fry prosciutto for about 1-2 minutes each side, or until crisp; remove from pan. Break up into pieces.

    Top bread with onion, prosciutto and feta before serving.
