Ingredients
Chipolatas with homemade barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup (50 grams) brown sugar
- 2 tablespoon red wine vinegar
- 1/3 cup (80 millilitres) worcestershire sauce
- 400 gram can crushed tomatoes (undrained)
- 1 kilogram chipolata sausages
Method
Chipolatas with homemade barbecue sauce

1Heat oil in pan, cook onion and garlic, until soft. Add ginger, paste, mustard, sugar, vinegar, sauce and tomatoes; simmer, uncovered, about 20 minutes, until thick. Blend sauce until smooth.

2Barbecue the chipolatas until cooked. Serve with sauce.
Notes
Sauce can be made a week ahead; refrigerate.
