Chocolate oatmeal cookies
Your typical oaty cookie steps things up a notch with the addition of delicious chocolate.

Ingredients
Chocolate oatmeal cookies
- 2 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 225 gram butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoon vanilla paste
- 1 1/2 cup chocolate buttons, crushed
- 225 gram cooking chocolate, crushed
Method

1Place rolled oats in the food processor and process until medium-fine in texture.

2In a bowl, cream sugar and butter, then add all the remaining ingredients in order given. Combine well.

3Roll mixture into balls the size of a large walnut. Flatten out and cut into heart shapes approximately 6cm x 6cm.

4Place onto a paper-lined baking tray. Put into fridge to chill for 30 minutes.

5Preheat oven to 180°C and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.

6Cool on wire rack. Cover half the heart shape cookie with a piece of cardboard, then sprinkle icing sugar over the exposed cookie half. Store in an airtight container.
