Chocolate pastry stars
  • 300 gram sachet aunt betty's sensational indulgent chocolate sauce
  • 1/3 cup almond meal (ground almonds)
  • 3 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoon raw sugar
  • vanilla ice-cream, to serve

Method

    Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan forced. Combine 1/2 cup sauce and almond meal in a small bowl; mix well.

    Using a 10cm star pastry cutter, cut 16 stars from pastry. Top 8 stars with chocolate mixture. Brush edges with egg; top with remaining pastry. Press edges to seal. Brush tops with egg; sprinkle with sugar.

    Place stars on a baking tray. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden and puffed. Serve with ice-cream and remaining chocolate sauce.
