Ingredients

Lamb kofta in curry sauce
  • 500 gram lean lamb mince
  • 1 cup (70g) fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 2 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 430 gram jar tikka masala simmer sauce
  • 2 tablespoon toasted slivered almonds
  • steamed basmati rice, to serve

Method

    Preheat oven to 180°C.

    In a bowl, combine mince, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, ginger and garlic. Season to taste. Using wet hands, shape heaped tablespoons of mixture into 8 balls.

    Heat oil in a non-stick frying pan on high. Cook meatballs in batches for 3-4 minutes, until browned. Transfer to a large ovenproof dish.

    Pour over sauce. Bake, covered, for 25-30 minutes. Top with almonds and serve with rice.

Notes

If your casserole dish does not have a lid, cover tightly with foil.
