Ingredients
Lamb kofta in curry sauce
- 500 gram lean lamb mince
- 1 cup (70g) fresh breadcrumbs
- 1 small onion, grated
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 2 teaspoon grated ginger
- 2 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 430 gram jar tikka masala simmer sauce
- 2 tablespoon toasted slivered almonds
- steamed basmati rice, to serve
Method
Lamb kofta in curry sauce

1Preheat oven to 180°C.

2In a bowl, combine mince, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, ginger and garlic. Season to taste. Using wet hands, shape heaped tablespoons of mixture into 8 balls.

3Heat oil in a non-stick frying pan on high. Cook meatballs in batches for 3-4 minutes, until browned. Transfer to a large ovenproof dish.

4Pour over sauce. Bake, covered, for 25-30 minutes. Top with almonds and serve with rice.
Notes
If your casserole dish does not have a lid, cover tightly with foil.
