Ingredients

Pea floater jaffle
  • 1/2 brown onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup (100g) mince
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, quartered
  • 1/2 cup (110g) mashed potato
  • 1/4 cup (30g) frozen peas, thawed, blanched and mashed
  • cooking oil spray
  • tomato sauce, barbecue sauce or gravy, to serve

Method

    Preheat sandwich maker or press according to manufacturer's instructions.

    To cook mince, saute onion in a little oil. Add mince and brown well, breaking up with a spoon as it cooks.

    Divide equal amounts of potato, mince and peas over 2 pastry squares. Top with remaining squares and press edges of pastry with a fork to seal. Lightly spray sandwich maker with cooking oil.

    Place pastry parcels in sandwich maker and close. Cook for 5-10 minutes, until golden and crisp.

    Cut into wedges and serve with sauce.

Notes

Try substituting fillings such as bolognese sauce, chopped baked chicken, stuffing or vegetables.
