Traditional daiquiri

The daiquiri was created in a small Cuban town of the same name by an American engineer, who combined the local spirit (rum) with native limes to make the ultimate pick-me-up after a hot day in the iron mines.

Ingredients

Traditional daiquiri
  • 45 millilitre bacardi rum
  • 30 millilitre lime juice
  • 15 millilitre sugar syrup
  • 1 cup ice cubes

    Place ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice cubes; shake vigorously then strain into 120ml martini glass.
