  • 1 1/2 cup plain flour, sifted
  • 150 gram butter, chilled, chopped
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • pinch cayenne pepper
  • 26 peanuts

Method

    Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced). Line two oven trays with baking paper.

    Combine flour, butter, cheese and cayenne pepper in a food processor. Process until mixture comes together to make a firm dough. Transfer to a bowl. Cover and chill 30 minutes.

    Mould 1 tablespoon of mixture into the shape of a crocked finger. Press peanut firmly into one tip to form a fingernail. Arrange on trays. Repeat with remaining dough.

    Bake 15-20 minutes, until golden. Cool on tray 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
