Baklava
This honey baklava is flaky, crisp, nutty and tender and isn�t overly sweet. A small slice of baklava goes a long way, especially with a cup of strong coffee or a hot cup of tea.

Ingredients
- 3 cup finely chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup finely chopped pistachios
- 1/2 cup finely chopped almonds
- 1 tablespoon caster sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon mixed spice
- 16 sheets filo pastry
- 125 gram butter, melted
Syrup
- 1 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 pieces of lemon peel
- 5 cloves
Method

1Preheat oven to moderate 180°C. In a bowl, combine nuts, sugar and spices. Set aside.

2Layer 4 sheets filo on a board, brushing each with butter. Trim to fit an 18 x 28cm slice pan. Arrange in pan. Spread over 1/3 of filling. Repeat layers, finishing with a pastry layer.

3Trim pastry. Brush with butter. Use a knife to score pastry into triangles. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until crisp.

4Make Syrup using method below.

5Once cooked, pour cold syrup over hot slice. Allow to cool. Cut into squares or diamonds. Serve with greek coffee.

6把水,糖,蜂蜜,皮和丁香saucepan. Stir over low heat until sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil on high. Reduce heat to low and simmer, without stirring, for 10 minutes until syrup thickens slightly. Remove peel and cloves. Cool slightly.
