Ingredients
Braised borlotti beans with tomato and garlic
- 500 gram fresh borlotti beans, shelled
- 1/3 cup (80ml) olive oil
- 1 cup (250ml) water
- 1 bulb garlic, cut in half horizontally
- 1/4 cup fresh oregano leaves
- 3 ripe tomatoes (450g), chopped coarsely
- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped fresh basil
Method
Braised borlotti beans with tomato and garlic

1Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F.

2Place beans in medium baking dish; drizzle with oil and the water. Add garlic, tomato and oregano.

3Bake beans, covered, about 1¼ hours or until beans are tender. Just before serving, stir in basil.
