Ingredients
Chocolate macadamia slice
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1/2 cup self-raising flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa, plus extra to dust
- 1/2 cup chopped macadamias
- 250 gram dark cooking chocolate, chopped
- 125 gram butter
- 1 cup caster sugar

Method

1Preheat oven to 180°C. Lightly grease an 18 x 28cm slice pan and line with baking paper, extending over two long sides.

2Sift flours and cocoa together into a large bowl. Stir in nuts. Make a well in the centre.

3Place chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl. Place over a saucepan of simmering water. Stir until mixture is melted and smooth. Remove from heat.

4Blend sugar, eggs and cream into chocolate mixture. Add to flour mixture. Stir with a wooden spoon until well combined.

5Pour mixture into pan. Spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until cooked when tested with a skewer. Allow to cool in pan.

6Lift from pan and dust with cocoa powder. Cut into squares to serve. Store in an airtight container.
Notes
If you like, make an icing by combining 2 cups icing sugar sifted with 2 tablespoons cocoa. Mix in 30g chopped butter and 1-2 tablespoons hot water. Stir until smooth.
