Grilled bananas with malibu syrup
- 4 large ripe bananas (920g), cut lengthways
- 1/3 cup (80ml) maple syrup
- 2 tablespoon malibu (see notes)
- 1/4 cup (15g) shredded coconut, toasted
Method
Grilled bananas with malibu syrup

1Combine maple syrup and liqueur in a small bowl; brush about a quarter of the mixture over the cut-sides of bananas.

2Cook bananas, cut-side down, on a heated lightly oiled grill plate (or grill or barbecue) for about 3 minutes or until lightly browned and heated through.

3Meanwhile, warm remaining syrup and coconut in a small saucepan.

4Serve bananas while hot, drizzled with warmed syrup mixture.
Notes
Malibu is the brand name of a rum-based coconut liqueur.
