Ingredients

Italian-style tuna with peas
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 4 (700g) small tuna steaks
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) dry white wine
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 cup (180g) frozen peas

Method

    Heat oil in a large frying pan on medium. Cook garlic and onion 5 minutes, until softened. Remove and set aside.

    Add tuna steaks to same pan; brown 1 minute each side. Return onion and garlic to pan with wine and tomato paste. Stir; season to taste.

    Reduce heat to low. Cover; simmer gently 3 minutes. Stir through peas, until heated through. Serve immediately.

Notes

If you would prefer to leave out the alcohol, you can substitute 1/4 cup of half lemon juice and half water.
