Ingredients
No-bake chocolate slice
- 125 gram butter, chopped
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 cup chopped pitted dates
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 200 gram chocolate wheaten biscuits, crushed
- 2/3 cup chopped dark chocolate
- 1 cup roughly chopped pecans
- 150 gram milk chocolate, broken
Method
No-bake chocolate slice
-
1Lightly grease and line a 16 x 26cm slice pan with baking paper.
-
2In a small saucepan combine butter with honey. Stir over a low heat until melted. Stir in dates and sugar. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, cool slightly and whisk in egg.
-
3In a large bowl, combine biscuit crumbs, dark chocolate and half the pecans. Pour in butter mixture, mixing until well combined. Press base firmly into pan. Chill 30 minutes, until firm.
-
4Place milk chocolate in medium heatproof jug. Microwave on medium power (50%) in 30-second bursts, stirring between each, until melted and smooth.
-
5Spread chocolate over cold slice and sprinkle with remaining pecans. Cut into squares and store in an airtight container in the fridge.
Notes
Press base mixture firmly into slice pan using a fork or the base of a glass. This will help prevent the slice crumbling when you cut it.
