Ingredients

Penne della nonna
  • 500 gram penne
  • 1 cup (120g) frozen peas
  • 90 gram butter, melted
  • 300 millilitre cream
  • 100 gram thin slices prosciutto, cut into strips
  • 1 cup (80g) grated parmesan, plus extra to serve (optional)

Method

    Cook penne in a large saucepan of boiling, salted water according to packet directions. Drain and return to pan.

    Add peas and butter to penne. Cook on medium heat for 3 minutes, tossing, until peas thaw. Stir in cream and prosciutto and cook for another 3 minutes, until penne is well coated and cream thickens slightly.

    Stir through parmesan and season to taste. Serve scattered with extra parmesan.
