Sugared red apples
This simple and beautiful apple and sage dish is the perfect side dish to serve alongside dessert or a family roast dinner.

Ingredients
Sugared red apples
- 3 red apples, washed and dried
- 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 3 tablespoon butter
- several small sprigs sage, optional
Method
Sugared red apples

1Slice apples thickly and smear with a little mustard, then dust with brown sugar. Fry apple slices in a non-stick frying pan in sizzling butter until golden.

2Pick sage leaves, if using, and add when apples are nearly ready. Transfer to a plate in one layer and serve immediately.
