Warm caramel sundaes
  • 125 gram chopped butter
  • 300 millilitre thickened cream
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornflour
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 cup vanilla ice-cream
  • 100 gram coarsely chopped jersey caramels

Method

    Stir chopped butter, thickened cream and brown sugar in a medium saucepan over low heat until butter is melted.

    Blend cornflour and water; stir into pan, bring to the boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 3 minutes or until thickened slightly.

    Divide vanilla ice-cream among four serving bowls, top with warm caramel sauce and jersey caramels.
