Nasi goreng
A fast and easy traditional nasi goreng recipe. This fragrant rice dish with prawns, chilli and shredded omelette is the ultimate comfort food for the spice lovers of the family.

Ingredients
Nasi goreng
- 2 tablespoon rice bran oil
- 4 eggs, lightly beaten
- 250 gram green prawns, peeled, deveined, halved lengthways
- 150 gram jar nasi goreng sauce
- 1 stalk celery, finely diced
- 150 gram snow peas, sliced diagonally
- 4 cup cooked long grain rice, cooled (from 1 1/3 cups raw)
- 2 tablespoon light soy sauce
- 8 cos lettuce leaves, finely shredded
- thinly sliced chilli, flowering chives, to serve
Method
Nasi goreng

1Heat oil in a wok on medium. Add egg; cook 2-3 minutes, until set. Turn; cook a few seconds. Remove from pan and cool. Cut into strips.

2Cook prawns in wok 1 minute, until pink; remove and set aside. Add nasi goreng sauce with celery; stir-fry 2 minutes. Add snow peas; stir-fry 1 minute. Stir in rice until combined; season with salt.

3Stir in prawns and soy sauce. Fold through egg strips and lettuce.

4Serve immediately, topped with chilli and flowering chives, if you like.
